Ecoconscious Living News

It’s time for the weekly selection of links – again. We are now definitely saying goodbye to summer and getting the last of our summer fruit in. It is an intensive time, with lots of preserving, baking and enjoying the last few days of warm-ish sunshine.

In some ways, this makes you think though…

1)How are the fires in the forests of the Amazon and Indonesian rainforests and the Siberian Taiga linked to climate change? Read an interesting take on it here.

2)The Rainforest Action Network is launching a webinar today with the topic: Take Action for a Liveable Climate! Most of us won’t be able to take part, but there are other ways in which you can help.

3)In order to improve air quality, this air purifier has been built in Xian, Shaanxi province in China. So far, it is just an experiment, but it has allegedly already helped to tackle the smog problem. It is certainly a step in the right direction if accompanied by investments into clean energy projects.

4)Another step worth of recognition is Britain’s first plastic-free nursery. We do get to read uplifting news. It just shows that small changes are possible. Let’s hope more will follow suit.

5)Check out these truly inspiring websites and e-mags: Waste-free planet and Illumecoblog. It is always worthwhile supporting small projects and help them grow.

Have a good week!
